One of the biggest limits of a home inspection is what a home inspector cannot see. Thermal imaging (also known as infrared) is a useful tool in identifying some conditions that a home inspector would have no way of finding. Thermal imaging cannot see through walls, but it is a great tool at identifying energy loss (such as around windows and doors or missing insulation). It is also useful in identifying some cases of water infiltration and overheating electrical components. Read our blog post here for more information on thermal imaging.
