Maybe your home inspector found a structural issue they were unqualified to address. Maybe you are buying a 100 year old farmhouse with settling floors and an old fieldstone foundation. Maybe you just want added peace of mind when you are buying your dream home. In any case, if you need a structural inspection by a Maryland licensed engineer, look no further than Kemp Home Inspections. We provide advanced structural assessments of commercial and residential properties. We also provide structural certifications if required.
In general, we offer three types of service.
Special Structural Assessment by an Engineer
Sometimes there is a specific structural issue that concerns you such as a foundation crack, damage from a fallen tree branch, or termite damage. In these cases, we have engineers on staff who provide targeted structural inspection services to address issue at hand. You can opt for our findings to be included in a detailed inspection report, or just a verbal summary (no report, costs a bit less). This service if for everyone: existing home owners, home buyers who were recommended to consult an engineer by their home inspector, home sellers who were made aware of a condition they need to learn more about.
Advanced Structural Assessment
An advanced structural assessment is the structural portion of the routine home inspection, but with added investigation, to include additional measurements beyond a standard home inspection. For residential properties an advanced structural evaluation takes additional time and requires special tools. All structural components are inspected, such as the roof structure, walls, floors, structural framing, trusses, foundation, etc. You will receive a written report signed/sealed by a licensed Professional Engineer. This service if for everyone: existing home owners, home buyers who were recommended to consult an engineer by their home inspector, home sellers who were made aware of a condition they need to learn more about.
Routine Home Inspection with Advanced Structural Assessment
With Kemp Home Inspections, LLC, you are going to get your structural concerns addressed as a part of your standard home inspection. Many home inspection companies routinely recommend having a structural engineer evaluate conditions. With us, there is never a need to bring in a structural engineer to advise you. All of our inspectors are specially trained to understand when structural conditions require the eyes of an engineer, and in cases where our inspector is not an engineer and finds conditions that require additional expertise, we will send out a engineer at no additional charge. Note: This service is only for buyers during the standard real estate purchase.
